blankets are great for covering objects that need to
be protected from sparks and spatter. Urie and Blanton
carries a large selection of welding curtain fabrics in
white fiberglass with no coating, gold neoprene coated
fiberglass, red silicone coated fiberglass, orange
fiberglass with light coating and leather which is
specially heat treated. Weight size for medium duty
welding curtains vary from 24 oz. 30, 32 and 35 .oz
dimensions.
Our medium duty welding blankets have a temperature
rating of 1000°F and provide protection from sparks,
spatter, abrasion and general purpose welding curtains
great for stress relief.
Please consider the criteria when choosing your
protective welding blanket. Will you be doing Light Duty
- general welding, light sparks and spatter; Medium Duty
- heavier welding applications, sparks, spatter, light
slag; Heavy Duty - heavy sparks, spatter, slag, molten
metal; or Extreme Duty - extra heavy spatter, slag,
molten metal.
Is your welding application vertical or flat?
Vertical application materials can be lighter weight and
lower melt temperatures; Flat application materials need
to be heavier weight and higher melt temperatures.
Stiffer materials are coated to allow spatter and slag
to roll off easier, softer materials work well for
wrapping objects for stress relief, thicker materials
take longer to burn through and you should consider
stiffer coated materials is your application involves
abrasion.

centers except when noted
- All welding blankets are sewn with 1000°F melt
temperature fiberglass thread (except 599- leather,
which uses KevlarŪ)
- All welding blankets Borders are hemmed for
extra durability (except 599- leather) and the
